WEll I got home on the 2nd from an amazing summer out in Ontario working at one of the Tim Horton Children Foundation camps and watching the impact camp had on those campers in amazing and you definatly knew Day 10 that you did your job each and every session. The smiles and tears from those campers just proved that their time at camp was memorable and even though they were there for 10 days, at camp you learn so much so fast being exposed to such a wonderful place. I have never had so much fun being away from home and the friendships that were formed in those 3 months is increadable. It was exceptionally hard to leave on Friday to come home, especially since I was the last group to leave camp so I went through saying good-bye to everyone. There were definatly some people that it was much harder to say good-bye to and the worst thing is I have no idea how many of them I will ever see again. The 5am group left and out of the 8 of them at least 5 of them made me cry and I didn't want to see them leave. Then I went back to lay down untill Switch left around 7 when he came to wake me up, out of everyone he was definatly the hardest to see leave because he was there for me through so much during the summer, he was probably one of the closest friends I made all summer. So once he left I went back to bed untill 8 when the next group was leaving, definatly didn't think I could cry so much in one day with people leaving. By lunch time I couldn't cry any more. Being home is so great but I had a routine at camp, and I haven't been sleeping either since I've gotten home. My summer was definatly one of the best ever and I have so many wonderful memories and pictures. Now when will I fly out to Ontario and Quebec to go visit everyone out there, luckly I have 3 others who are in Halifax, and a number of people who are in New Brunswick so at least there's still some who are close. Thank you everyone for such an amazing summer and there's no way in this world I will never forget this summer. Boss you're awesome and too bad it took till last Day 8 meeting for us to ever really talk. You learn so much over 3 months and realize not to wait till the last moment. Definatly the last 2 escorts were amazing, the last one especially, all 8 of us sitting together with 70 campers.
Now that I'm home I have so much stuff to get through, including unpacking, going to the school to buy books, getting my cell phone plan changed and possibly buy a new phone in exchange for the garbage one I have. Plus then it's party time with those who live in Halifax from camp!
Well I'm back to cleaning from 3 months of everything at camp and then time to upload more pictures! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer back home and now that I'm hoem we will definatly get together since I was gone all summer.
Love you all!
Ashley
